Limit the initial walk while wearing the boots to under 20 minutes. Afterward, remove the boots and inspect for any signs of abrasion on their paws.

Please note that size exchanges are only permitted if the boots are unworn, unwashed, and in mint condition. We encourage you to try the Wagwellies in a safe and clean environment, like your home, initially

WagWellies® Mojave is our hot and dry weather boot. Designed to protect paws from the hazard of hot pavement. The perforated holes allow lots of ventilation. Our patented design makes them easy to slide off and on, while also creating a secure fit that will stay put even while on the run. Sleek, sturdy, and, most importantly, comfortable, making for the perfect paw protection. Sold as a set of 4.

**Wagwear® and the WagWellies® are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way connected to Crocs, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates.

The WagWellies® should fit snug, they can even need a little squeeze to get on. Although it might be a stretch to get through the opening-the paw spreads out in the cavity of the boot. Less movement means more comfortable for your dog. It will feel more natural and there will not be any excess weight on the paws. Position strap under wagwear label to keep front flap from moving.

Training

Getting a dog used to wearing boots is a process. It is very normal to see an amusing high-step in the beginning. This is because they can’t feel the floor and it throws off their coordination, they need time to re-coordinate themselves. It may even take getting them outside and on with the walk before they start to realize that they can in fact walk & run as usual.

TIPS: We know it can be a bit challenging to get your furkid used to the boots. Here are a few suggestions that may help:

  • Use lots of treats to make your dog associate the boots with happy feelings.
  • Put the boots on while your dog is sleeping or eating.
  • If your dog's paws are super furry, you might want to mat down the fur with some water until you get used to putting them on.
  • Hold the boot in your palm while holding your dog on your lap, sometimes a good resistance kick will get them in the boot very fast. Just have the Velcro in a good place to wrap them quickly.
  • Start with getting one or two boots on and let your dog get used to them in the house before putting all four on. Once your dog becomes comfortable in one, he might drop his resistance a bit to putting them all on.
  • Sometimes putting them on in combinations is helpful. Putting the boots on only the back paws, or only the front paws, or a front and opposite back paw, leaving them on for a while, and then swapping the combination for a bit more time is helpful in helping your dog get used to them.
